The Fourth Edition of the KÖLNER LISTE Ended with More Visitors, Happy Exhibitors and Many Sales

Over the three days of the fair, 9,300 interested visitors poured into the XPOST to visit the KÖLNER LISTE 2017, where 94 exhibitors from 20 countries and 6 continents were represented this year. The success factor of the fair was again the combination of young and renowned galleries, special project rooms and emerging artists. The Mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker also described the KÖLNER LISTE as “impressive” when she visited the fair on Sunday afternoon.

The art on offer ranged from painting, drawing and printed graphics to sculptures and installations and finally to photography and urban art. The fair provided a lot of space for new and fresh art in particular, showcasing latest expressions and movements. With such a contemporary concept united with a relaxed and communicative atmosphere the KÖLNER LISTE won over both the exhibitors and the public, which reflected in greater visitor numbers and notable sales.

Many exhibitors reported good sales. Christian Marx Galerie from Düsseldorf already sold a work of Maxim Wakultschik within the first few hours, and the business continued with success. “Additionally, we were able to make valuable international contacts, and to get acquainted to the exciting artists of co-exhibitors as well, hopefully for some future projects”, reported Christian Marx, the gallery owner. Colony Art Gallery from Bucharest announced the sale of a sculpture by the Romanian artist Mihai Topescu. According to Patricia Corboud from the HLP Galerie from Wesseling, the fair was quite diverse in all respects and the audience was rather interesting as well. “We are very satisfied and happy about the increase of professionality within the art fair, which we have been able to observe as an exhibitor since the first hour,” she said. Galerist Alfred Knecht of Galerie Knecht und Burster from Karlsruhe was also very content too: “The location was very nice, we were very satisfied with the number of visitors and their quality. After the Art.Fair left Cologne, we were happy about the unique opportunity to change to the KÖLNER LISTE. We are very positively surprised by the level of art, including the exhibiting artists and the well-known exhibiting galleries.” Also good sales was reported by Galerie Klose – contemporary tomorrow from the city of Essen. “We had a consistently good response, the visitors were enthusiastic about the young and fresh art. We are very happy with our sales, and in total we have been able to sell more than ten works of art,” the gallerist recounts.

The participation at the KÖLNER LISTE was a great success for many exhibitors of the Artist Section as well. Hubert Mussner from the Italian sculptor group Cater was delighted about good sales and great interest in his sculptures. The young Cologne artist Danny Frede reported the sale of his large-scale work. He was laso approached with offers for four further exhibitions, two of them from galleries. Rolf Sellmann from Berlin also rated the art fair positively: “Five stars plus as far as the organization is concerned. I particularly like the communicative atmosphere, both between the audience and the exhibitors, as well as among the exhibitors themselves.” Urban art artist Taymour Benkhalef from Munich sold two large-scale artworks and demonstrated a good dose of enthusiasm saying: “The fair is just brilliant. The atmosphere, the team, all are super nice. Finally, a non-elitist fair, which also allows artists to exhibit.

Due to the positive records of our exhibitors and the notably increased interest from the public, we can confidently claim that KÖLNER LISTE has grown into a widely respected art fair open to all – art lovers and artists, young and experienced collectors and all the people enthusiastic about art. We are thrilled with the experience of our 4th edition and look forward to further installments of our art fair, with amplified energy and zeal. To summarize the KÖLNER LISTE 2017, we give you a photographic overview of the atmosphere, the booths and the art-loving people and invite you to stay with us until our next event! Art is for everyone! Long live art!
